This site was developed after many years of experience of Alzheimer’s in our family. You pick up so much information through the years, from the first heart dropping time you hear it diagnosed, to the time your loved one can no longer be safe in their own home, to the end stages—still ongoing for us—that will eventually bring death.
I am a daughter of a mother with Alzheimer’s. I am also an observer of the interaction between residents at the memory care home where she now lives. Spending time there nearly everyday has helped me see the residents as amazing individuals, as well as given me insights on what is important to them and for them.
Much of what you will read here is derived from our personal story. I believe it can help you accept, cope, and learn to enjoy the time you have with your loved one.
